Good Day Mockingbird is a weekly zine of short fiction written with AI. Every issue has three stories — one each from Claire Jacobs, Paul Titangos, and Pete Kaminski — on one shared theme, plus a note from the editor’s desk. Read it in one sitting; it’s built to be finished.

How the stories are made

Each of us writes with AI, our own way, under our own direction — planning, prompting, revising, arguing with the machine, and deciding what ships. Each author owns and answers for their own story. The illustrations are AI-made too. We think of it as three writers and their instruments; the instruments are new, the wanting-to-tell-a-story isn’t.

The theme

Every story in every issue is set, at least partly, in a marketplace — a fair, a stall, a shop, a bazaar, a trade nobody quite understands. Each issue narrows the market a little further (Issue № 1: The Fair Is In Town). That’s the constant that makes a Mockingbird story a Mockingbird story.

Who

Claire, Paul, and Pete are three friends who meet on Mondays to talk about AI and fiction, and who decided that the way to find out what an AI-fiction zine should be was to publish one. In the spirit of dance like there’s nobody watching: we don’t know yet whether there’s an audience for this. We know we’ll enjoy making it.
